All good things must come to an end and the Freeride World Tour is not something that can overlook this. The 2010/2011 tour has had it’s last stop in Verbier and the winners have been announced, crowned and sprayed with champagne. But are the victorious bunch? Well, all will be revealed…

There were five men that were in contention to take home the title of Freeride World Tour champ when Verbier came around but there could only be one winner. It was Aurélien Ducroz who skied the best line of the day with two huge cliff drops! Not only did this gift him the top spot on the podium in Verbier, it allowed him to claim the title as Freeride World Tour Champion 2011. Samuel Anthamatten finished in second with Jérémy Prévost in third place overall, both in their first season on the Freeride World Tour.

The women skiers stepped up and put on a remarkable show today with the highest level of riding ever seen on the Freeride World Tour. Former Olympic Swedish ski racer Janette Hargin stunned the crowd with a fluid line that included several cleanly landed cliff drops. Her incredible performance earned her today’s win and the 2011 Freeride World Champion crown. Angel Collinson, in her rookie year on the tour, took second overall and Janina Kuzma is third.

The FWT champs were given a new Nissan Juke along with a total cash purse of $60,000 for the event in Verbier. Not bad for an afternoon’s work!
