This weekend had some of the best action the skiing world could hope for. Let’s start with the slopestyle which a hard fought competition, and that’s being nice about it! First up were the ladies…

Kaya Turski was top dog in this battle after a run that saw her put the rest of the following field behind her for good. Her run consisted of a frontside switch up into a switch lip into a 180 on, cab 360 out of the cannon box, switch 540 on the first jump, 540 on the second and a huge 720 on the last one. This gave her a score of 92.25 and it was a score that no one could be, but they had a damn good go.
Coming in second place was Devin Logan after killing a run of a huge disaster on the second box, then hitting the first jump with a switch 540, cork 720 into a flat 540 giving her 90.50.
Finishing off the podium was Emilia Wint who stomped a run of a huge cork 7 mute, flat 3 japan and a 540 mute grab which gave her a score of 85.00.

The final standings were as follows:

2. Devin Logan – 90.50
3. Emilia Wint – 85.00
4. Eveline Bhend – 80.00
5. Emma Dahlström – 41.25
6. Dara Howell – 36.50

After the girls had taken a chunk out of the course in Killington, it was time for the guys to step up to the plate. After several weather delays that pushed the semi-finals back, there was no such trouble for the finals. With some damn good weather and no wind, there was only one thing in store – an insanely good competition.

Nick Goepper had eyes for the podium as he made it there last year. He wanted to make sure he had the taste again this year. But coming up against riders like Bobby Brown and Tom Wallisch, it was always going to be a hard contest. Taking top spot was none other than Mr Tom Wallisch and he did it by breaking a Dew Tour record with his overall score of 95.25! He stomped a switch lip 270, right frontside switch up, blind 450 out, switch lip slide, front 450 out of the cannon, double cork 1260 mute off the first jump, switch left double 1080 japan and a switch right double cork 1080 japan. Yup… jaw dropping. Here’s his winning run:

In second place was a front runner after yesterday’s semi-finals, Bobby Brown. After the insane wind of the semis, Bobby changed up his routine so he could include a 270 on, 360 switch up, 270 out, rodeo 4 on the up rail into a unnatural double 1080, right double 1080 and finished with a switch double 1260.

Third on the podium was Nick Goepper. He added to his podium finish with a decent run on the course – a switch 270 on, back 2 out, 360 switch up, 270 out and a from 4 through the rail section, a right double cork 1080 mute on the first jump, left double cork 12 mute on the second and a switch right double cork japan to finish.

All in all, a pretty hard fought contest between all the men and women. It’s a sign of things to come with the Winter X Games coming up this weekend and we’re sure to expect a few more fireworks there!
