Following on from the rookies and women’s finals the Austrian Freeski Open continued out in Zell am See, with the guys taking to the stage on a course which consisted of a rail line, gap jump, high rail and kicker line. The morning kicked off with the semi finals, where the riders were allowed two runs each with the best one counting.
The top ten then went through to the finals in the afternoon, where they were allowed three chances at getting a winning score. Nick Goepper (USA) took the pressure off himself pretty much straight away when he absolutely killed it in his first run, scoring a massive 93.50. GB’s James Wood left things a little more to the last minute, but managed to follow up in second scoring a secure 93.00 in his third run, while McRae William’s (USA) score of 92.00 took him into third spot with a stylish second run.
