Peter Alport recently dropped this edit of some of the Nike team sessioning two pretty crazy features that he’s been working on – a chairlift station in Mt Hood Skibowl and a massive peace sign in Mt.Bachelor.
I designed and built two features in April for Nike: one at Mt. Hood Skibowl, the other at Mt. Bachelor with their excellent park crews. The Skibowl lift area set up had been an idea for a couple years and finally came together. A tricky build to say the least, but everything worked out perfectly. The Mt. Bachelor Peace Sign had been in the works for quite some time too. The Peace Sign was fairly simple, but the idea for the shot was a little more thought out. I wanted to have two skiers and one snowboarder on the feature at the same time, shot from above, using a lift. I work with both skiers and snowboarders professionally and don’t appreciate the negativity between the two. I hope Nate Abbott’s photo of the Peace Sign will send a message that we are all in this for the same reason: to have fun no matter what you ride! Enjoy this edit of Jossi Wells, Gus Kenworthy, TJ Schiller, and Johnnie Paxson.
