The Austrian Freeski Open is moving, but don’t worry it’s still in Austria! The 2010 event will be taking place at the Mellow Park on the Kitzsteinhorn, in Zell Am See. Preparations for the event are under way, and riders can expect a world class course to show off their skills. With the European X-Games and European Open taking place straight after, there are plenty international riders in the area to get involved in the action. From the 25th-28th of February 2010, the battle for this coveted title and the US$20,000 will take place.
At its 8th edition, the Austrian Freeski Open will take place at the Kitzsteinhorn in One Big Park SalzburgerLand for the very first time. Weeks before, the rush on the free qualification places for the slopestyle event at the new location is already enormous. Many international top-class riders of the freeski scene already confirmed their participation – among them are freeski legend Jon Olsson (SWE), Russ Henshaw (AUS), Bobby Brown (USA), Henrik Harlaut (SWE) and Patrick Hollaus (AUT). With titleholder Elias Ambühl (SUI), the runner-up of the Austrian Freeski Open 2009, Bene Mayr (GER), Andreas Håtveit (NOR) and Jossi Wells (NZL), also four top-class Atomic pros will take part. They will all be fighting for the highest Austrian Freeski Open prize money up to now, US$ 20,000!
