COUNTDOWN CONTINUES TO 2013 RED BULL PLAYSTREETS

With winter firmly making its mark on the Austrian Alps, preparations are running at full speed for the fifth Red Bull PlayStreets event in the streets of the spa and ski resort of Bad Gastein in the SalzburgerLand. Work on the course began over a week ago and just as importantly, all 20 starting places have been filled with well known names from the freestyle ski scene. The countdown is ticking ever closer to the moment on Saturday 23 February when the streets will sound to the cry of: “Bad Gastein make some noise, one more time!“

20 skiers confirmed. For a fifth time, Red Bull PlayStreets has enticed the international freestyle skiing elite to Bad Gastein. Twenty skiers will once again give their all in the centre of the resort and flash their best tricks right in front of the eyes of fans. A glance at the list of those taking part is enough to make freestyle ski fans’ mouths water. Joining defending champions Elias Ambühl (CH) and 2009 winner Russ Henshaw (AUS) on 23 February are PK Hunder (NOR), Paddy Graham (UK), Nick Goepper (US), Bene Mayr (GER) as well as local heroes Fabio Studer, Luca Tribondeau and Tobi Tritscher.

Red Bull PlayStreets 2013 is coming. Images from Red Bull PlayStreets are well known beyond the borders of the Salzburg region and Austria, attracting tens of thousands of visitors to Bad Gastein in the past, including stars like Jude Law. Work began over a week ago on a course filled with kickers and slides that winds through the streets and over the roofs of the picturesque resort. Fans can look forward to huge amounts of action and exciting aerial battles. The winner will take home a 250cc Suzuki RMZ Motocross Bike and will get his own star on the Walk of Fame – plenty of motivation for all the skiers to put in another fine display of their art again in 2013!

Live for all. Hip hop act “Die Au” (Average & Url) will get the atmosphere going for the skiers and the spectators. It is very much time to stick 23 February into your calendar and gear up for a trip to Bad Gastein. Anyone who can’t make the freestyle skiing party in person will not miss a single second as the contest will be broadcast via a live stream on www.redbullplaystreets.com. ServusTV will show the highlights of the Red Bull PlayStreets the same evening at 10:30 p.m.!
