After a sweet day in Monterosa we legged it over to Meribel in France for our rendez vous with Nick Southwell who was filming a piece on the area for White World.
The first day was super good with bluebird skies and ample fresh on the hill, but the avalanche level was pretty high at 4/5. Perfect weather and snow then for hucking off drops and grabbing some cruisy turns, but the untracked lines and more gnarly terrain that we wanted to go hit up would have to wait for another day.
On the second day we awoke to white out and more snow, so the boys went and played in the trees while we scoped some spots for a night shoot that we wanted to do that evening (see features)
Pumped on the previous evenings skiing, we awoke to bluebird and fresh snow once again, but by the time we reached the top of the hill the cloud had rolled in and it soon started to puke again! Will it ever stop this winter?
Next stop is home to Davos via Verbier. Next week, we’ll be checking in at the European Freeski open in LAAX.
