With barely a minute to recover from the X Games, Tignes will swiftly open its doors again to welcome in the Brits, which will kick off 23rd – 30th March. The best thing about the Brits is that it’s open to everyone (well those of you with a British passport at least), so you don’t have to be a seasoned pro to give this one a go, and with categories of all ages and disciplines there’s something for everyone. If you’re still sitting on the fence, register anyway as you don’t have to pay anything until you collect your bib in resort, at which point you’ll hopefully feel so hyped (and perhaps pressurised by the fact you’ve just travelled miles to get there) that you’ll man up and take the plunge. You’ve still got two months to get your runs on lock, so get practising!
Competition Schedule
Monday 25th – FREESKI Rail Jam / SNOWBOARD Cross
Tuesday 26th – FREESKI Cross / SNOWBOARD Rail Jam
Wednesday 27th – FREESKI Slopestyle
Thursday 28th – FREESKI Halfpipe / SNOWBOARD Slopestyle
Friday 29th – SNOWBOARD Halfpipe
If even the vague notion of competing scares the hell out of you then settle for the off slope entertainment that the Brits is known for, which includes countless live bands and DJ’s, BBQs, The Whitelines Rail Jam, and you can even watch the Brits take on the Frenchies in the Airtime Team Challenge. If you want to step away from the skis completely then check out the ridiculous ‘Sledgecross’, which was introduced last year and following its great success will be heading to Tignes for 2013, this year complete with rollers and gap-jumps!
