Is there anything that Kevin Rolland can’t win? It’s a rhetorical question, yes, but he’s been killing it this year. I know that there are a few comments on SkiUnion about the Frenchman gaining the judges votes because he’s French but you have to admit, fourth Winter X Games gold in a row and his fourth gold medal in a row for this year! He managed to bag the gold with his first run of the night making sure he put himself under no extra pressure for his final run. Justin Dorey deserves a shout as he added to last year’s bronze medal by landing the first switch double flip 1080 in halfpipe competition
Kevin kicks things off with a pipe double 900 mute, to alley-oop flatpsin 360, to a switch 900 to switch rightside 720 combo, ending with a double cork 1260. \
Justin went in with a double cork 1260, to a rightside 900 into a rightside alley-oop flatspin 540, alley-oop flatpsin, this time the 360 variation, to end with the switch double flip 1080. Just incredible.
The newest Winter X Games love child, Torin Yater-Wallace, took his second Winter X Games medal after impressing in the States. He dropped in and stomped a double 900, then he immediately goes into back-to-back 900s. The alley-oop double flatspin 900 was next followed by the 1080 and finishing with a switch alley-oop 720.
