After the excitement of the slopestyle qualifiers, we have to throw our attention over to the superpipe as the pipe rats took charge. Like the slopestyle, there were a couple of standout riders that need a mention. Benoit Valentin grabbed top spot in heat one after throwing down a left double flare, alley-oop flat 3, left switch 720 mute and a right side cork 9 tail. One hell of a run that only David Wise could get close to after stomping a left flare mute grab, alley-oop flat 3 mute, switch right 7 tail, left 9 tail, right 9 nose and alley-oop cork 9. That gave Wise the best score of the day with an 87.17.

Jonas Hunziker was in the mix again with a sixth place finish in heat one. Again, he’s one to keep an eye on likewise in the slopestyle event.
