Well, what a first day we had! First up on the course were the women for the Slopestyle qualifiers. Standing out from the crowd and taking the top spot was Maude Raymond after she threw back to back railslides into a railslide disaster grab. Then a 360 into left double cork 540, ending it all with a left 360 japan grab that was out of this world. The ending results were:

What was up next? It could only be the men’s Superpipe qualifiers. Similar to the women’s event, this was another hotly contested affair with places 7-2 separated by only 7 points! Quite the run! The nearest contender was Kyle Smaine coming in just shy of three points behind him.

That wasn’t all that was in store for the first day of the Dew Tour. Before the sun tipped his hat and said ‘good day’, we still had to get through the Men’s Ski Slopestyle qualis!
The slopestyle event had some big names in the pot so there was always going to be some interesting results to come as riders were knocked out! Who came out on top? LJ Strenio. He killed it. With a run that consisted of a right 270 on, a backside 360 switch-up, backside 450 off, switch left bio 900 mute grab, ending with a left side double cork 1080 mute grab into a right side double cork 1080. With that run under his belt he put some other great skiers underneath him. Final qualifying standings are:

The Women’s Ski Superpipe Qualifiers was cancelled out of respect for Sarah Burke so all 10 competitors will advance to tomorrow’s semi final.
