The Heli Gold is a cruisy powder ski which definately excels on ‘deep’ days. In previous years, we found it a bit too soft for anything but the fluffiest powder, but it seems that Zag have remedied that by stiffening it up, making a ski that has way more versatility in the types of snow it can handle. It has excellent floatation and ease of use in powder, and thanks to its sidecut is also very useable on the piste, but we still say it is most at home in the rack of a CMH Heli lodge, waiting to be taken out by Donald Trump.
