Professional freeskiers that engage in the sport at its highest level do so with the knowledge that injuries are fairly inevitable. For the lucky these injuries can be comparatively minor and fairly insignificant to their career, but for others they can be completely life changing. When Russ Henshaw shattered his kneecap back when he was 17, he was told that he was never going to ski again.
