If you’re aged 17 years old or younger and you dream of staring in a ski movie, then this is probably you’re dream post. (if you’re over 17, read anyway, but be prepared to feel disappointed).
The legendary Teton Gravity Research (TGR) has announced the fourth annual Grom Contest on TetonGravity.com. Which means that from February 1st 2013 riders 17 years of age or younger can enter a ski or snowboard edit each month for a chance to film with TGR during the 2013/2014 season. Each month a winner will be awarded an amazing GoPro HERO3 and the winner’s edits will be screened in theatres around the world as a preview to TGR’s 2013 feature-length film, to a not insignificant audience of over 80,000.
Beginning February 1 2013 to May 31st 2013, riders 17 years of age or younger may submit up to one sub-three minute ski or snowboard edit each month for a chance to film with TGR during the 2013/14 season. GoPro HERO3’s will be awarded to each monthly winner and the overall ski and snowboard winners’ edits will be screened in theaters around the world as a preview to TGR’s 2013 feature-length film, to an audience of over 80,000 people. (And don’t forget the tiny part about filming with TGR!)
Footage can come from any type of terrain, anywhere in the world. A committee of TGR athletes and staff members will choose the winners primarily based on overall riding talent. The submission window will close May 31, 2013.
“We created the Grom Contest three years ago to excite the young guns, recognize them, and help them gain exposure via our platforms,” says Todd Jones, TGR co-founder. “The level of talent in skiing and snowboarding continues to blow us away and we can’t wait to see this year’s submissions from around the globe.”
