It’s become a major event in the in the AFP World Tour, upgraded to Platinum Level, placing it at the same level as X-Games US and the DEW tour. This makes FROSTGUN the first and only single Big Air event in the world to reach Platinum Level!

The best riders in the world have been selected and invited from all four corners of the world. They will compete for points in the world ranking, the huge price pot of 30.000 USD and simply to enroll in the history of freestyle skiing – on a giant module that has been shaped at the foot of the legendary Face de Bellevarde.

The riders, including the Canadians TJ Schiller, Vincent Gagnier and Alex Bellemare and the Scandinavians lead by PK Hunder (NO) and Jacob Wester (SWE), will come to the Savoyard resort to battle it out on Friday the 15th of February. Within this international line-up of riders you will find this years X-Games medalists; The Swiss Freeski star Elias Ambühl and the “fridge kid”from the UK James Woods (he actually learnt to ski on an indoor slope!).” The Line up is bigger then it has ever been before at this year’s Frostgun with X Games medalists (Elias, Woodsy, TJ) and a lot of Canadians like Vincent Gagnier or Alex Bellemare! Looking forward to see the Scandinavian army in action as well!” – Rafael Regazzoni, Olympic judge.

Unfortunately the winner of Frostgun Invitational 2012 Kai Mahler (SUI) and the winner of Frostgun 2011 Russ Henshaw (AUS) – won’t be able to claim the title this year due to injuries and they are not alone, Bene Mayr (GER) and Tom Wallish (USA) are also suffering from injuries and won’t be able to attend.

Frostgun is proud to present a special guest this year. A person who’s dubbed “the God” within the ski network – who has raised skiing to a different dimension. He has won everything from Big Air to Half pipe at X-Games as well as the famous backcountry freestyle contest Linecatcher and has also claimed the title World Champion in Freeride: CANDIDE THOVEX. The Frostgun Invitational will be an opportunity to meet the legend and perhaps see him ride the Channel Gap, after several years of not having attended the competition scene but dedicated his time to the mountain and his film “A few words”.
