Anyone fancy a ski? Yad Moss, England’s only outdoor snow slope is open. This Cumbrian resort is run entirely by volunteers, and with one 630 meter long drag lift that takes you to the summit is one of the hidden gems of the British ski scene. There’s even a day lodge here with a club room. According to reports recent snow has made for some pretty good conditions. So if you are in the area put down the mince pie, throw the brandy on the fire and get out there (actually probably best to decant the Brandy into a hip flask and take it on the hill with you – it’s pretty cold!).
Day Tickets cost £15. For further information see their website, or call the information hotline on 01228 561634.
