Winter X Games Tignes 2013: Men’s Ski Slopestyle Elimination – RESULTS!

Yes! It’s officially started! All the talented gits have been throwing their best moves down the slopestyle course as the competition decided to halve the amount of riders that will advance into the next round. Out of 16 riders, only 8 could go on to attempt to win a medal but, as you’d expect, this wasn’t a crowd of riders that would easily roll over.

In top spot, and standing in for Andreas Hatveit, was Jossi Wells. Deciding he didn’t need ski poles for his second run, he topped the table with a whopping 91.33 beating the nearest competitor by a clear 2 points. In second place was Aussie, Russ Henshaw with Gus Kenworthy (who I’m touting as a podium finisher this year) in a close third place. Slopestyle favourite, Tom Wallisch, finished in 4th place but don’t let that fool you! I’m pretty sure he’ll be bringing out some bigger tricks for the finals and taking the gold medal!

One of the stand-out moments of the elimination was Nick Goepper with his second run. As he took off from the kicker, he lost a ski but still managed to stomp his 1080, landing on one ski. Not only that but he finished off a nice rail grind on the last box rail of the run. Pretty impressive but it still left him dead last.

Results are as follows:

10.30am – 12pm GMT
Men’s Ski Slopestyle Elimination

1pm. – 2.30pm GMT
Women’s Ski Slopestyle Final
