Up in Bear Mountain, California, we saw some incredible moves from some incredible riders at the War of Rails 2012. The weather knew it was going to be a good day so made it better by treating everyone with blue skies. The deal was that there would be two heats of 4 riders with 30 minutes each to spend on the course. Out of this you would have only 15 going through to the next round (top 6 from each heat along with the next 3 highest scorers).
The final was a a 45 minute jam session where the 15 riders threw everything all over the shop to impress the judges. But there was only going to be one winner and it had to be the man of the moment, Tom Wallisch. He took on every feature with fire in his belly and managed to get ahead of the two other notable performances of the day from Spencer Millbocker and Kyle Smaine who finished second and third respectively.
Oh and Wallisch skied away with a cheque for $10k in his pocket so I think the drinks are on him.
