Tignes/Val d’Isere – 5-7th February
On arrival there had been no recent fresh snow so the slopes were becoming slightly icy lower down and there was no powder to enjoy. However, about a foot of snow on Friday and glorious sunshine on Sunday made for a great days skiing. Plenty of powder to ski from the Val glacier to the lower slopes coming into Tignes le Lac. The pistes were also in good condition and although the more popular ones turned bumpy in the afternoon the majority remained great. Every run I saw was open as were both snow parks. The runs at the top of Tignes around Merles and Grattalu were in superb condition all day with some very impressive powder lines surrounding them! No snow forecast for the next few days so the powder will gradually be tracked out but the pistes will likely remain good.
